Updates 2024
International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, 23 May, 2024

We remain committed to the fight in ending obstetric fistula through our Obstetric Fistula Prevention, Treatment, Rehabilitation and Reintegration program. Notably, our Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre provides a safe space for affected women and girls to receive information, counselling and reparative surgery, and engage in different rehabilitation activities geared towards giving them back their dignity, self-respect and self-pride in readiness for their reintegration into their communities.
As we join the rest of the world to commemorate another International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, we reaffirm our commitment to ending this preventable injury through diverse awareness raising activities that promote positive sexual and reproductive health behaviours and prevent social and cultural practices that contribute to the obstetric fistula, including child marriage, adolescent pregnancies and female genital mutilation/cutting.
