Excellence in Family Medicine: Success at WACP Examinations, 2 April
Celebrating Dr. Safiatou Singhateh: Inspiring the Next Generation of Medical Professionals.
During the February/March 2026 sessions, the West African College of Physicians (WACP) conducted its rigorous Family Medicine examinations for registrars, drawing medical professionals from across the region. Candidates sat for the exams at accredited centres in Abuja and Ibadan, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana, where they demonstrated their clinical expertise and readiness for advanced practice.
Among the Gambian candidates was Dr. Safiatou Singhateh, Family Medicine Registrar at BAFROW Medical Centre, who sat for the Membership Examinations. We are proud to announce that Dr. Singhateh excelled by successfully passing, reflecting her unwavering commitment, professional mastery and resilience.
We take immense pride in Dr. Singhateh’s achievement. During her years with us, she has steadily embodied high standards of care, compassion and professional integrity.
Her accomplishments were further recognized in March 2026, when she and other distinguished Gambian female doctors were celebrated by the Medical and Dental Association of The Gambia and the Medical Women’s Association of The Gambia for their contributions to national healthcare.
Dr. Singhateh’s journey stands as an inspiration to young professionals aspiring to careers in medicine, proving that determination and hard work open doors to leadership in clinical practice.
We join the West African College of Physicians in congratulating all successful candidates and reaffirm our commitment to advancing family medicine across The Gambia and the wider region.
