Our Housekeeping Department is responsible for maintaining facility cleanliness; managing linen operations, food services and uninterrupted power supply; and attending to non-clinical needs of our patients.

OUR SERVICES
INFECTION CONTROL, HYGIENE AND SANITATION
We continue to strengthen our efforts and raise our work standards to prevent and control infections within the facility.
Our measures include:
- Environmental Hygiene: Regular cleaning and disinfection throughout the day to reduce infection risks and eliminate unpleasant odours (e.g. floors, surfaces, door handles, toilets equipment)
- Hand hygiene support: Ensuring soap is consistently available in staff, inpatient and visitor toilets, and providing hand sanitizers in all clinical and administrative rooms
- Waste management: Monitoring garbage bins and safely discarding waste, including hazardous materials and syringes, on a regular basis
- Pest control: Implementing policies to manage insects, bugs and rodents through infrastructural repairs (e.g. sealing holes and cracks), environmental monitoring and the use of safe chemicals
- Food safety: Maintaining a designated eating area and ensuring proper storage of food and food products
- Linen and bedding standards: Preventing the use of non-approved mattresses and linens by inpatients
- General sanitation: Promoting basic hygiene and sanitation practices across all areas of the facility

LINENS AND GARMENTS
The Housekeeping staff manage and distribute all linens and garments, including patient gowns, bathroom robes and towels, bedroom slippers, beddings, drapes, surface coverings, catering towels, scrubs and lab and doctor’s coats.
They make sure that:
- Linens and garments are kept in stock, stored securely and maintained in well-ventilated areas for readiness
- Items are changed daily or more frequently when required
- All linens are properly laundered to eliminate germs and reused safely or disposed of appropriately as applicable
CATERING AND ROOM SERVICE
Our Catering Service provides inclusive meals for inpatients and operates the hospital’s indoor canteen. The Unit functions in full compliance with The national Food Safety and Quality Act (2011).
Specifically:
- Meals are prepared in a clean, sanitary kitchen within the hospital
- All food handlers—including cooks, canteen staff and room service staff— complete routine medical check-ups to ensure wellness, are medically certified and undergo regular training in food safety
Inpatients enjoy free continental breakfast and afternoon tea through our Room Service.

MAINTENANCE
We maintain a dedicated on-site maintenance crew that is responsible for overseeing all electrical systems and infrastructure.
Specifically, the team:
- System Oversight: Monitors and manages all electrical systems across the hospital
- Power Continuity: Ensures uninterrupted electricity during surgeries and critical procedures through backup generators and UPS systems
- Preventive Maintenance: Conducts regular checks to identify and resolve potential issues before they worsen
- Emergency Response: Oversees troubleshooting and repair in case of electrical faults
- Safety Compliance: Adheres to electrical safety standards to protect our patients, staff and equipment
- Infrastructure Support: Works with other units to maintain reliable power for our medical devices, IT systems and facility operations
