Recognition from the WACP reflects our sustained commitment to high-quality clinical care, professional education and service to the community.

Family Physicians are trained to be expert clinicians, first-contact doctors, care coordinators and patient advocates within the health system. They manage acute and chronic illnesses, provide preventive and promotive care, offer mental health and psychosocial support and ensure continuity of care across different levels of the health system through appropriate referrals and follow-up.

With WACP accreditation, BAFROW Medical Centre is formally recognized as a centre capable of training doctors to these high standards.

IMPACT ON PATIENT CARE AND SERVICE DELIVERY

The presence of Family Medicine residents enhances the quality of care delivered at BAFROW Medical Centre. Training environments promote evidence-based practice, regular clinical reviews, case presentations, and audits, all of which lead to improved diagnostic accuracy, safer prescribing and better patient outcomes. Patients benefit from more thorough consultations, holistic assessments, and a stronger emphasis on prevention, early detection of disease and long-term follow-up.

Family Physicians play a vital role in managing common and complex conditions, coordinating care for patients with multiple illnesses, supporting maternal and child health, addressing adolescent and elderly health needs and integrating mental health into routine care. Their broad skill set ensures care is person-centred rather than disease-centred.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE

This milestone positions BAFROW Medical Centre as a hub for capacity building, mentorship and continuous improvement in Family Medicine. By training the next generation of Family Physicians, we contribute to a stronger health system and better health outcomes for our community and the country at large.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY-ORIENTED PRIMARY CARE

As an accredited training centre, BAFROW Medical Centre strengthens its role in community-oriented primary care. Family Physicians are trained to understand the social, cultural, and environmental factors affecting health and to design care that responds to the real needs of the population. This aligns closely with our mission to provide accessible, equitable and compassionate healthcare.
