Commemoration: Breast and Prostate Cancer Awareness Months (1 September – 31 October 2025)

Cancer talk at G4S Solutions (Gambia) LTD: Contributing to improved employee well-being

A critical part of our breast and prostate cancer awareness campaign is educating institutions about these pressing health issues. Through our health talks, we help prevent and reduce workplace-related ill-health while promoting employee wellness, ultimately contributing to increased productivity.

We were honoured to be invited by G4S Secure Solutions (Gambia) Ltd. to deliver a health talk on breast and prostate cancer during its staff Town Hall Meeting on Friday, 3 October 2025 at the G4S Headquarters in Fajara. The event brought together over 75 employees, including Section Managers.

Representing BAFROW Medical Centre were:

  • Safiatou Singhateh, Registrar, who explained how and where breast and prostate cancers develop, along with their risk factors and symptoms
  • Mustapha Babatunde, General Surgeon, who highlighted the importance of regular screenings for both cancers, and outlined the screening methods and treatments available at BAFROW Medical Centre
  • Assanatou Tambi, Administrator, who expertly facilitated the event on behalf of BAFROW

The talks were followed by a lively Q&A session, where participants sought clarifications and engaged in healthy debates. Towards the close of the event, our doctors quizzed staff on what they had learned, with branded t-shirts awarded as prizes to those who demonstrated strong understanding. Information fliers and brochures on breast and prostate cancer were also distributed.

Participants are expected to hold step-down health talks with their colleagues, who in turn are encouraged to share the knowledge with their families and communities. With over 1,000 G4S employees providing security and facility management services nationwide, we anticipate that these messages will reach a broad and diverse audience—including men and women in remote and hard-to-reach communities.
